Chris Maleno, Senior Vice President, Chubb Group
Division President, North America Major Accounts
Christopher Maleno is Senior Vice President, Chubb Group, and Division President, North America Major Accounts. He has executive operating responsibility for the retail commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance business that serves the large corporate market in the U.S. and Canada. His responsibilities encompass strategy, production, product development and management, and profit and loss (P&L) performance.
Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Mr. Maleno served as Division President of ACE USA, a position he held since 2008. He was appointed Senior Vice President, ACE Group, in March 2014.
Previously, Mr. Maleno was ACE USA’s Chief Operating Officer. He has also served as President, ACE Casualty Risk, where he was responsible for leading and executing strategic business plans for ACE USA’s portfolio of casualty insurance products, including lead umbrella and excess liability, custom casualty, public entity, construction, workers compensation and environmental liability.
Mr. Maleno joined ACE as Division President, ACE Regional Operations for ACE USA in 2007. In this position, Mr. Maleno oversaw ACE USA’s field operations by driving distribution strategies with brokers on a national and regional basis, as well as overseeing expansion of ACE USA’s product and marketing strategy at the local level. In addition, Mr. Maleno was responsible for ACE USA’s focused customer segmentation model and strategies, which deliver customized products and services to large national accounts, middle market corporate risk accounts, and small commercial businesses.
Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Maleno served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for American Home, a unit of AIG. He also held key senior leadership positions in casualty underwriting and regional operations management at AIG and Chubb.
Mr. Maleno received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Vermont and holds an MBA from Columbia University.
