Jacques Bonneau is Executive Vice President, Global Underwriting. He is responsible for advancing underwriting excellence across the company, including general underwriting policy, underwriting and underwriting management best practices. He also has oversight of Chubb’s global product boards and reinsurance strategies.
Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Mr. Bonneau was the Executive Vice President, Global Underwriting for ACE. He was appointed Executive Vice President, ACE Group, in March 2014.
Mr. Bonneau joined ACE in 1999 as Division President, ACE Tempest Re USA, and was named President of ACE Tempest Re Group in 2005. In 2010 Mr. Bonneau was appointed Chairman of ACE Tempest Re, responsible for the company’s global reinsurance business, which focused on helping clients around the world accurately assess catastrophe risks, structure effective risk transfer solutions and manage the risk and return profiles of their portfolios.
Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Bonneau was Chief Underwriting Officer and Member of the Board of Directors at Chartwell Re Corporation from 1990 to 1999, and Senior Vice President at Trenwick America Reinsurance Corporation from 1981 to 1990. He began his reinsurance career at General Reinsurance Corporation in Casualty Facultative operations in 1981.
Mr. Bonneau holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
