Joseph S. Clabby is Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, Bermuda and Global Accounts. Mr. Clabby has executive operating responsibility for the Bermuda-based commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance business that writes high-limit excess liability, property, political risk, and directors and officers coverage worldwide. His responsibilities encompass strategy, production, product development and management, and P&L performance. Mr. Clabby also leads the division within Chubb that focuses on the sophisticated product and service needs of multinational clients.
Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Mr. Clabby served as Division President, ACE Bermuda and Global Accounts, roles he was named to in April 2015 and October 2013, respectively.
With more than 30 years of experience in banking, brokerage and insurance underwriting, Mr. Clabby has served in a number of leadership positions at ACE, including President, ACE Continental Europe, where he was responsible for the profitable growth and development of the company’s insurance businesses in 18 countries across Europe. Mr. Clabby has also served as President of Regional Operations for ACE USA, where he drove distribution strategies on a national and regional basis, and President, ACE USA West, overseeing the regional operations and executive leadership in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston.
Before joining ACE in 2001, Mr. Clabby held various management positions in the reinsurance, brokerage and financial sectors. Mr. Clabby holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fordham University in New York City and a MBA in Finance from Pace University in New York City and a Master’s degree in Education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
